Noble House - Blu-Ray Import (Reg.B, 2-Disc Set)

Denmark has released a Blu-Ray/Region B version of "Noble House," but please note that it will not play on a regular DVD player or a standard US Blu-Ray player. In order to view it in the USA or Canada, you will need a multi-region Blu-Ray player. The film is available in English (Dolby Digital 2.0) with Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish subtitles. It is presented in widescreen (1.78:1) format.

The story follows the struggles of the international trading company Struan's, also known as the Noble House, which is facing financial difficulties due to mismanagement by the previous leadership. The new Tai-Pan, Ian Dunross (played by Pierce Brosnan), is forced to issue public stock to improve the company's financial situation, but it is not enough. In a bid to secure capital, he seeks support from American billionaire Linc Bartlett (played by Ben Masters), unaware that Bartlett is secretly backing Dunross' rival, Quillian Gornt (played by John Rhys-Davies).

As Gornt plots to destroy Struan's, Dunross realizes the imminent threat and must form new alliances and navigate old ones to save the company. A crucial subplot involves an ancient coin, the possession of which grants great power to whoever holds it. Crime lord Four Finger Wu (played by Khigh Dhiegh) acquires half of the coin and plans to use it to smuggle opium. Wu and Bartlett meet tragic ends, leading to a shift in power dynamics within the Noble House.

With the help of the Bank of China's funding, Dunross thwarts Gornt's plans and secures the future of Struan's. Meanwhile, Casey Tcholok (played by Deborah Raffin) rises to a position of leadership within Bartlett's company, aligning the organization with Struan's for a stronger alliance.

This 2-disc set of "Noble House" (also known as James Clavell's Noble House) offers viewers a thrilling tale of power, betrayal, and redemption set against the backdrop of a prestigious trading company in turmoil.
